After the official worst winter on record in the city of Boston, we were in desperate need of some blooms WITHOUT snow on them! And they came just in the nick of time at the Boston Flower & Garden Show, March 11-15 at the Seaport World Trade Center.Landscape designers, nurseries, florists, schools, and non-profit organizations brought our 2015 theme Season of Enchantment to life, creating gardens and displays featuring dozens of plants, methods and materials that explored the mystical and ‘enchanting’ joys of the spring landscape.
A full roster of gardening, cooking and floral demonstrations and in-depth lectures happened every day of the show. National experts, garden authors, local nursery managers and landscapers, Master Gardeners and our knowledgeable exhibitors covered a diverse range of topics. This year, Steve Schirripa of The Sopranos showed attendees how to make Bloody Marys with his very own spaghetti sauce!The amateur competition divisions welcomes floral arrangers, home gardeners and amateur photographers from all over to display their talents at the Boston Flower & Garden Show. And this year’s Florist Invitational invited professional floral designers to wield their powers of sorcery to conjure up colorful wizard hats and wands incorporating flowers, foliage, nuts, and seeds.
After a tough winter, attendees were anxious to stock up on items for the 2015 gardening season in our Garden Marketplace, the ultimate shopping opportunity for garden-related products and services like plants, garden tools and furnishings, landscape services, botanical décor, clothing, and floral-themed gifts.From making tissue paper flowers in the Lil’ Sprouts Activity Corner to decorating whoopie pies with the Whoo(pie) Wagon, there was something for everyone, young and old at the Boston Flower Show, including the chance to win a 4-night Caribbean Cruise from the official cruise sponsor of the Boston Flower Show, Celebrity Cruises!
